Navigating succession dynamics in a family business with trust and purpose.
This event has ended.
In a world defined by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA), the traditional foundations of family and business are being tested. So how can we effectively resolve conflicts, establish trust and connect deeply?
Dr.Ramesh Ramachandra and Ms. Poorani Thanusha will draw from decades of experience to highlight the unique pressures facing families in business. Central to this conversation are four types of conflict often encounted in family firms—across generations, roles, interests, and values—and how these can escalate when next-gens study and live abroad, reducing time spent in shared family environments.
But beyond conflict resolution, families must also address a deeper transition. This is reimagining legacy, not just in terms of assets or governance structures, but in how they stay together and move forward with shared purpose.
Drawing on their research—including Dr. Ramesh’s work on the “Hive Effect”—they will will also touch on how trust builds the social fabric needed for innovation and continuity. When families can create safe spaces for communication, embrace diverse viewpoints, and co-create a shared future, legacy becomes more than inheritance—it becomes intention in action.
This session is both a reflection on what must evolve, and a call to action: Can our families learn to stay together, to think together, and to build the future together?
First we will start with a casual chat, flow into case-study analysis and finish with a Q&A.
